Pep Rally featuring TV personality Poncho de Anda set for June 10 at Chi Town Futbol

Throop in Chicago. The event, which is open to the general public, will feature a special appearance by Mexican international and current Club America superstar Pavel Pardo.

De Anda is one of today’s most beloved personalities in Spanish-language television. He started his career in his native Mexico in 1997 with group Radio Centro as a disc jockey at Alfa 91.3 FM and has won such accolades as the 2007 “Sin Limite USA” Award, given to the Best Latin TV Host, as well as the FAMA Award for his work at Miss Universe 2007. Most recently, he served as host of Emilio Estefan’s reality show “Nuevas Voces de América.”
One of the most important figures in Mexican football in recent years, Pavel Pardo currently plies his trade with Mexico’s Club América, where he returned during the 2009-10 Apertura season after a successful three-year stint at Bundesliga (German First Division) side VfB Stuttgart, helping the team to the Bundesliga title in 2007. A Club America fan favorite since first joining the squad in 1999, Pardo has helped the “Azulcremas” to two league championships (Torneo de Verano 2002 and Torneo Clausura 2005) and finished the 2009-10 Apertura season with the Mexico City club making 16 appearances and scoring one goal. With the Mexican National Team, Pardo has been equally impressive, helping Mexico to the 1998 and 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cups as well as the Confederations Cup in 1999. The 33-year-old defensive midfielder also represented Mexico at the 1998 and 2006 World Cups in France and Germany, respectively.
