Wisin y Yandel have been around since the beginning of the millennium, but they didn’t gain superstar momentum until the release of their 2005 album, “Pa'l Mundo,” which reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Latin Albums charts, giving them a real mainstream mega buzz. The album included chart-topping singles featuring raggaeton heavy hitters like Daddy Yankee and Aventura. The duo also won big in 2008, earning a Grammy (Best Latin Urban Album of the Year) for their highly praised multiplatinum compilation, “Wisin vs. Yandel: Los Extraterrestres,” as well as a Latin Grammy for Best Urban Album.
