The concert, presented by Corona Extra, is part of the artist’s “No Hay Imposibles” U.S. Tour, which is being produced by CMN and Live Nation.

After three years away from the spotlight, Chayanne – winner of the 2010 Premio Lo Nuestro “Excellence Award” – returns to the stage in support of his latest recording, “No Hay Imposibles,” and the Puerto Rican native will spend much of the next year on the road. Following on the footsteps of his hugely successful 2007 “Mi Tiempo” Tour, Chayanne’s current tour will include visits to countries such as Mexico, Spain, Chile and Argentina before returning to North America in the fall for an additional nationwide leg, and further dates into 2011.

Chayanne released “No Hay Imposibles,” his 14th studio album, on February 23, 2010. The album, recorded between Miami, Puerto Rico, Los Angeles, Bogotá and Buenos Aires, features the hit single, “Me Enamore De Ti,” which serves as the main theme to the popular Mexican soap opera, Corazón Salvaje. In all, 11 tracks make up Chayanne’s latest musical endeavor, with something for everyone, from melodious ballads to unmistakable uptempos.

“No Hay Imposibles” is already certified gold in Argentina, Venezuela, Mexico and the U.S.

In 2009, the artist returned to a field in which he has also shone, one in which his fans had wanted to see him again: acting. He starred in a TV miniseries, Gabriel and, once he concluded that, he tackled music head on, seeking songs for “No Hay Imposibles”; working with general producer Javier Díaz and with other renowned industry veterans such as Julio Reyes, Sebastián Krys, Pablo Durán and René Toledo; and promoting up-and-coming talents, such as young Venezuelan composer Paolo Tondo, author of “Me Enamore De Ti,” among other songs.

Defining the Chayanne Experience

Anyone who has ever seen Chayanne in concert will agree that his shows are quite simply, an experience. In the words of a twenty-something woman, the pop artist’s self described biggest fan, what one experiences at a live Chayanne show can only be called "musical hysteria."

It's not just the exhilarating rhythms and dancing numbers, which are plenty, or the good-looking male and female dancers. It's not just his talented and charismatic musicians, either. It’s all that plus thousands of fans – mostly women often accompanied by their husbands or boyfriends – screaming at the top of their lungs which make them all participants in that unique experience.

With CMN managing Chayanne's "No Hay Imposibles" U.S. Tour, which drew more than 20,000 fans on opening weekend, I thought it would be good to take in the "experience."

The first stop was at L.A.'s historic and accommodating Gibson Amphitheater, considered a mecca for contemporary performers. Backstage, framed photos of artists who have sold out the Gibson at one time or another adorn the narrow walls. Among them were a handful of CMN friends and pop legends, including Ana Gabriel, the father-and-son tandem of Vicente and Alejandro Fernandez, and Luis Miguel. Further down the hallway is a frame that changes every week – sometimes every night. It is a Gibson tradition to have a framed photo of the artist scheduled to perform that night hung next to the also famous “A” dressing room. On this night, the man in the framed picture was Chayanne.

"The Chayanne Experience", said one of the screaming fans, “is his moves, his dancing, how he makes me feel inside." Her husband, standing next to her, could only display an awkward smile as he listened quietly to his wife’ colorful description of her platonic love. Her delight soon turned to complete euphoria as the lobby lights began to flicker, signaling the start of the show.

"I gotta go," she blurted. “I can’t miss the start, it was nice to meet you!" And she ran off, leaving her husband walking quickly behind her.

When the lights at the Amphitheater finally went out, the screams were so deafening that they melted into a long, high-pitched omnipresent scream that seemed to bother no one. As the notes of one of Chayanne's most recognized songs began to play, I suddenly felt as though all the women standing behind me were going to rush to the stage and run me over. I turned back slowly, hoping to avoid the stampede, but the women did not seem to notice that I was even there, their big eyes fixed on the lasers and lights beaming before them, waiting for the cause of all the screaming to finally appear.

The beat sped up, the notes strung longer, the dancers took their places and then, in a nano second of quiet delirium, Chayanne suddenly appeared, and I feared I might go deaf. Some began to cry, some began to dance. But Chayanne, and his ubiquitous magnetism, was just about to put take the "experience" into full gear.

CMN and Live Nation will be producing the entire U.S. tour for the international music icon and winner of the 2010 Premio Lo Nuestro “Excellence Award.”

After almost three years away from the spotlight, Thursday’s tour launch will mark the return of Chayanne to the stage, and the Puerto Rican native will spend much of the next year on the road. Following on the footsteps of his hugely successful 2007 “Mi Tiempo” Tour, Chayanne will visit countries such as Mexico, Spain, Chile and Argentina before returning to North America in the fall for an additional nationwide leg, and further dates into 2011.

“CMN is delighted to serve as Chayanne’s U.S. tour promoter for the second straight time,” said Gerry Fojo, Vice President of Touring for CMN. “Chayanne is one of the most talented and exciting live performers in the world, and we’re looking forward to another memorable tour.”

Following the release of “No Hay Imposibles” earlier this year, preparations for the tour began immediately and included auditions for new dancers and a new band in Los Angeles and Miami, respectively. In his own words, Chayanne describes his latest road endeavor as “a puzzle of dances, choreography, lyrics, musical arrangements, set design, lights, video and other special effects whose pieces come together through time and many days of rehearsals.”

The culmination of those intense preparations will come to life this Thursday at the Gibson Amphitheatre. There, before his loyal fans, Chayanne will retake the stage with an electrifying show that is not to be missed. Tickets for all shows are now on sale and can be purchased through www.ticketmaster.com and www.livenation.com. For more information, please call 312-492-6424.
